- Made with slow-cooked, melt-in-your-mouth tomatoes, our Tuscan-style sauce also features a hint of caramelized red pepper and a touch of garlic. It could be described as the most classic Italian sauce since all its aromatic notes play up the taste of fresh tomatoes in perfect harmony.
- Uses; This classic tomato sauce is a must-have for all your pasta dishes. It can also be used as an ingredient in pappa al pomodoro, a traditional Tuscan soup made with stale bread, which is just as good served hot, cold, or at room temperature.
- Authentically Italian pasta dishes are not served swimming in sauce. Average proportions are 375 mL (1 ½ cup) tomato sauce for 500 g (1 lb) pasta.
- Don't throw away all your pasta cooking water: it's a good idea to add a bit to your sauce. Mix in ¼ to ½ cup (or a ladleful) cooking water with the sauce before adding the pasta. The salted, starchy water will enhance flavours and thicken the sauce, helping it stick to the pasta.
